TYPE OF TRAINING: fartlek (continuous training coupled with high intensive training) + specific skills and attacking drills
GOALS:
1. To hone skills with competition drills and activities
2. To perform at a medium intensity while remaining precise in drills, maintain game awareness
3. To build team cohesion and communication with in-game situations.
Equipment:
3 netballs
Cones
nets
Warm-Up: two laps of courts + stretching essential muscles + passing drills 5 mins
Work-Out:
Pitta patta drill. Very slow jog back. 4 mins
Passing up and down court 2 mins
Passing down court 2 attackers 1 defender + shooting 4 mins
Passing drill with 2 attackers 1 defender in middle and defending third (addition of two defenders and one shooter in the attacking third) shoot within three passes 5 mins
Break frees (starts to test speed) 2 centres, WA, WD, GA, GD + shooting 3 mins
Starting attacking drill, break away from cone. 3 mins
Game with Hammond’s team 20 mins
Cool Down
1 slow lap
1 slow lap stretching at each corner.
