Training Principles
There are training principles that exist to increase the maximum performance output of athletes. These training principles various in number pertain to netball and over the term of a year are key to improving fitness, skill and overall performance of players.These training principles include:

- Specificity - focus on areas and they will improve with repetition.
- Progressive overload - training at an intensity greater than you capacity, can improve largely with the FITT(Frequency, intensity, time, type) principle
- Frequency - How many times you train.
- Intensity - The Effort put into training.
- Time - The length of the exercise session.
- Type - The type of training as aforementioned.
- reversibility - Fitness gains will revert to normal if training ceases.
- Measurable progress - The minimum amount of fitness should be tested to gauge improvements.
- Diminishing returns - fitness gains are harder to achieve as improvements in fitness increase.
- Variety - Motivation and interest can be maintained through variety.
- Individuality - training needs to match individual's strengths and weaknesses.
