Across court passing drill
· Two lines are formed on either side of the court with one ball on one side of the court.
· The player on the opposite side runs out to meet the ball, receiving it and then passing to the next player in the opposite line.
· This continues by running to join the line that you passed to.
Inner circle passing drill
· There are three players evenly around the shooting circle and two lines next to each other to the right of the hoop.
· The player on the left is attacking and the person on the right is defending.
· There are two balls that start with the left and middle players around the shooting circle.
· The drill starts by the coach blowing the whistle.
· The two players on the baseline then break the attacker getting the ball from the player at the top of the shooting circle.
· The attacking player then continues to get the ball from the players on the shooting circle (receiving the ball from the player that did not just receive the pass from the player) until the balls are where they were at the start of the drill.
· The defender is trying to prevent these passes.
Shooting position drill
· The drill starts with one player at the transverse line and one near the shooting circle with a GS and GA in the shooting circle.
· A defender is then assigned to each player.
· The goal of the drill is to quickly get the ball into a shooter in good position.
· The GS and GA cannot leave the shooting circle.
· The drill starts with the coach blowing the whistle and it should be completed fairly quickly.
· Once the shooter gets the ball into good shooting position, the ball is then given back to the attacker to start again at the transverse line.
· Once through twice with the same people, positions are then rotated.
